VIDICON TUBE
These tubes required several High Voltages on the internal Electrodes and usually 6.3 Volts for the Heater and the front Target as seen needed a Voltage and it is at this point you get THE VIDEO at a very low level and High Impedance so a lot of effort is required in getting the level up to the Standard we now use.. The X and Y scanning and Focus was done with Home Made Scan Coils and driven from solid state output stages...Screening was a must otherwise radio stations caused patterning on the picture all good fun and the BBC let us poor ATV guys buy them cheaply about a £5 in them days they were GOLD.
