PCB's MADE EASY BY G3SXC

After making PCB's for over 40 years Alan G3SXC keeps coming up with simpler ways to do things and I wish to share one of these with you now of a way to Actually use an old HP Pen Plotter to do the job direct.....NO PHOGRAPHIC COSTS at all..........

The Requirements are you have a pen plotter and a Cad PCB system that can talk to the plotter ( HPGL ).....Last month I nearly got rid of my two thinking I would never use them.... Lastly a SPIRIT based PEN ....Farnell No 177-706 pack of 5....(31HP03K9).

First do your artwork as normal and draw an outline around it.....Then plot it out on stiff paper on the plotter this is to find out where it will come.....Cut a suitable bit of PCB and make it a little larger all round...... Mark on the plotter base where it will plot then place your PCB there by taping the edges to the stiff paper..... Then plot using the Spirit based Pen and bingo allow a few minutes to dry then etch in the normal way.... Sounds simple...

Make sure your PCB is clean and no grease on it....... You will need to adjust the PEN height to allow for the PCB thickness.... After a few trials I am sure you will have good results like I saw at Alan's G3SXC Shack....

This method is ideal for the ATV guy whom only wants to make one or two PCB,s like myself......
