ATV HOW TO TURN A LNB INTO A 100m/W TX for 3c/m
This is a simple way of getting onto 10GHz ATV if you happen to have one of these LNB's. At a Rally , I think LONGLEAT , I purchased several LNB's for just £2 but had poor noise figures in fact no-one wanted these and the chap said he had hundreds he wanted to get ride of... These LNB's had the local oscillator on 10,000MHz and I found I could pull these at least 350MHz without too much trouble... Next I removed all the IF and negative Voltage generator just leaving the top PCB with all the RF stages and the LO... By cutting the PCB at certain points it was possible the turn all the RF stages around and then they would act as a PA amplifiers.... By adjusting the negative voltage you can adjust the Power level from less than a m/W to 100m/W.............. G3RFL
