LNB MODS TO GIVE LF FREQ BOOST AT 10,065MHz

©

This is a simple modification to increase the gain at the LF end around 10,065MHz where our local repeater output of GB3XG resides. As you can see in picture (2) with the cover removed the Interdigital Filter for want of a better name was the cause of about 15db roll off when compared with a frequency gain at 10,600MHz....I fitted a small piece of PTFE sheet (not PTFE tape) across the filter see picture (3) hoping it would add capacitance due to the dielectric of the PTFE sheet and it came up by at least 12db at the lower frequency....But remember to not get any glue, nail varnish, the wife's not mine on the filter poles otherwise it will be lossy due to the glue ...As you can see I did it at one edge the earth end of the filter poles......G3RFL
